Rae tries, she really does. She tries to stay quiet, tries to stay still. But sleep isn't coming. There is no comforting mental hum of wards surrounding them, and there are night-time forest noises from outside the tents that could be anything.
"Psst, Fry. Are you awake?" she whispers quietly, half-hoping it is so but also not wanting to wake him if he is successfully asleep.
