Camping
Dick and Cat wanted to go camping. Dick asked Bonnie. Dick asked around, then somehow the word got out and it was a CAMPING TRIP.
Which he's okay with, really. He doesn't get much chance to hang around with other kids.
They pick a spot a good distance from the bar, near enough to the lake that washing and swimming can happen, not so close to the forest that demon bunnies are a severe threat, and set about pitching a camp for the weekend, or whenever they all get bored...

After hours
There's no one staying up late and whispering to each other, we promise.
Re: After hours
She had loved the ghost stories - scary stories have always been her favorites. But now, tucked into her sleeping bag, she can't help but be aware of every sound from outside the tent, how exposed they are without thick walls and locked doors and heavy wards between them and the night.
What if -
She'd heard that vampires sometimes came to Milliways...
Re: After hours
Re: After hours
"Psst, Fry. Are you awake?" she whispers quietly, half-hoping it is so but also not wanting to wake him if he is successfully asleep.
Re: After hours
"Yes."
He's not a stranger to insomnia. But this is quite different.
Re: After hours
Re: After hours
"...Can't sleep," she admits, with the tone of a kid who doesn't want to make it a big deal but is rather upset by it.
Re: After hours
There's a brief silence while he thinks about this, then he crawls out of his tent and over to hers.
"Want some company?"
Re: After hours
Re: After hours
"I won't tell anybody", he promises. "It's a bit too quiet out here for me anyway."
Re: After hours
She's used to the sounds of the city, rather than the forest.
"I've never slept outside before. There's no wards."
Re: After hours
There's never anything like silence in London. Even in the House of Arch.
"...would you feel better if there were?"
He can't make them. But maybe somebody can.
Re: After hours
She has thought about this.
"I'll be fine." Though she may be leaning against him a bit.
Re: After hours
He lets her lean all she wants.
"Well, two pairs of ears are better than one. We'll hear if anything gets close."
Re: After hours
"It's probably stupid to worry, anyway," she says, after a while, feeling guilty for keeping Gavroche up. "Milliways is pretty safe, right?"

Re: After hours
"Psst, Dick. You awake?" She whispers.
Re: After hours
He's quiet, but manages to sound a little grouchy about this fact. Camping's fun and everything, but right now he should be in his short shorts flying over the city on patrol.
(Ugh)
"You wanna go outside?"
Re: After hours
"Yeah," Cat replies, silently getting out of her bed role. She leaves her boots behind since they'll likely just make noise and wake someone else up.

Re: After hours
Re: After hours
"Why couldn't you sleep?"
Re: After hours
[OOC: Hand wave she mentioned Gotham in her ghost story? If Dick didn't already peg her from her accent.]
Re: After hours
"I know, right?"
He says it almost immediately, before he can consider that Wayne Manor isn't in the city-proper and it's actually quite quiet. He's more familiar with the city at night.
"It's too dark without the street lights too."
Re: After hours
"I don't know. Lots of neighborhoods have bad street lights. What city are you from anyway?"
Re: After hours
He's matter-of-fact about it.
