Haly's Circus: New York City!

 It's a quick stop between Metropolis and Gotham City. New York is what John Grayson calls a Red Pin town - big shows, and dangerous tricks, but it's smaller than Metropolis and is a warm up for the big shows in Gotham.

Dick waited until the punters were beginning to show up then grabbed a moment between rehearsals to run into the bar and collect his friends. So many people had said they hadn't been to a circus in too long, and that had to be fixed.

Also, he feels that if having access to a magic bar is going to do something, it might as well bring an audience to the circus.

Under the ringmastery of C.C. Haly comes a spectacular show of spectacularness.

There are clowns! They have dogs!

There are animal acts! (Lions, two tigers, and an elephant.)

There is a strong man!

All of this is building up to the headliners.

The performance is wonderful and Tumnus is amazed though does wonder when the lion comes out. He know of lions who aren't Aslan but still lions are important.

X is, as always, perplexed by the clowns.

But the act with the big cats receives all of her attention -- not least because she is curious as to how the trainer's methods differ from Trowa's.

(And, you know. Cats. Cats that can kill a man, but don't.)

The circus is exactly as circuses should be: Amazing!

Okay sure the animals are weird, and he doesn't understand some of the jokes the clowns make, but aside from that this is one of the most fantastic things he's ever seen.

And they haven't even gotten to the Graysons yet!
