Haly's Circus: New York City!

 It's a quick stop between Metropolis and Gotham City. New York is what John Grayson calls a Red Pin town - big shows, and dangerous tricks, but it's smaller than Metropolis and is a warm up for the big shows in Gotham.

Dick waited until the punters were beginning to show up then grabbed a moment between rehearsals to run into the bar and collect his friends. So many people had said they hadn't been to a circus in too long, and that had to be fixed.

Also, he feels that if having access to a magic bar is going to do something, it might as well bring an audience to the circus.

Aang takes the hat and gives it a critical eye, before plopping it on his head. The wool is itchy at first, but he gets used to it.

"Remind me what this says again?"

"Metropolis Monarchs," Dick says. "They're a baseball team."

Don't mind the calming breath Aang takes as he removes the hat and begins to rummage through the folded pile of offered clothing.

"And that's the game with the club and the ball, right?"

Orange sweater. Check. Blue pants made of a material that feels like canvas. Check. Orange shoes named Chuck. Check. Aang reaches out to touch the white t-shirt and socks that came with the rest of his clothing.

He looks concerned.

"That's the one," Dick says.

He comes up behind Aang and peers past his shoulder at the clothing.

"What's up?"

"They're white." It's almost as if he expects Dick to recognize the cultural significance of that color.

"Maybe this is the real reason the Monks detached from the material world..."

[daringyoungman]

"Because of white?"

Aang, the sense you are making isn't much.

Aang nods.
"It's a little ... morbid for the circus."

Don't you think, Dick?

"Is it?"

No really, is it?

Aang's blank expression quickly morphs into one where his brow furrows in thought.

"You don't wear white to funerals here, do you..."

[daringyoungman]

Dick frowns, then his expression clears as realization dawns.

"Oh! Well, I dunno what they wear here but on my world we wear black. Hang on."

The quickest way to the closet is totally to vault over the bed, flip on the bedframe and land on the floor over there. He rummages in, and finds a yellow "Flash" T-shirt and a pair of rainbow striped socks.

"How's this?"

Judging by Aang's expression at the sight of the replacement clothes...good. Very good.

"Those are aMAzing! I've never seen socks so bright before!"

[daringyoungman]

"Well, I ain't paying for them so bring them back or put them on your own tab."

You know, the one paid for by Phil. Which also covers Dick's tab.

"I promise," Aang says as he whips up a vortex and pulls the shirt and socks in his direction.

Dick just lets them go. He has other people to take care of as well.
