Haly's Circus: New York City!

 It's a quick stop between Metropolis and Gotham City. New York is what John Grayson calls a Red Pin town - big shows, and dangerous tricks, but it's smaller than Metropolis and is a warm up for the big shows in Gotham.

Dick waited until the punters were beginning to show up then grabbed a moment between rehearsals to run into the bar and collect his friends. So many people had said they hadn't been to a circus in too long, and that had to be fixed.

Also, he feels that if having access to a magic bar is going to do something, it might as well bring an audience to the circus.

In the bar, Dick picked up a bunch of clothes that might be needed to disguise people: modern outfits for Aang and Almanzo, a hat and loose pants for Tumnus.

Then he rounded everyone up into a room upstairs.

Tumnus is careful with the pants as he puts them on, they do seem as if they will fit his legs,

"Will these work?"

"I think they look stylish," Dick says. He circles Tumnus critically, examining him from all angles at least twice.

(All angles means above and below as well. All angles.)

"Tail out or in?"

"In would perhaps be best,"

His tail isn't that long which means it easily slips into the waistband.

Dick nods, and steps back to look.

"A shirt'll cover it, too."

He tugs the shirt on, its comfortable and covers up though he fidgets with it, "Like that?"

[daringyoungman]

"Yeah."

Dick does a handstand in front of him in case he looks different upside down.

"Stop playing with it."

Aang is supposed to be getting changed, but instead he's just flushing the toilet over and over again.

After a few flushes, Dick peers around the bathroom door.

And watches him.

It's mesmerizing, especially when Aang uses his waterbending to force the water to flow in the other direction down the drain.

"What are you doing?"

....ut oh. He's been caught.

"uh...playing with your toilet?"

[daringyoungman]

"Why?"

X is dressed simply in a pair of blue jeans, a light pink button-down, and a white tank top.

It's a lot like the clothes she wore while in disguise in Eureka, honestly.

She is currently looking for a good place to be out of the way, while also keeping an eye out for any sign that she is improperly dressed.

Dick grins at her.

Apparently she's fine.

X does not grin back, though she does relax slightly.

"Other supplies will not be necessary?"

It seems safe to check. Before it is too late.

"Did you bring cash?"

That's it!

"Yes."

X's response is prompt.

"I requested legal tender from your where and when."

It's something she learned when Bruce came to visit. Different Secretaries of the Treasury, for one.

Different security measures, for another.

"Then you're set," Dick says.

"You think Tumnus looks like a human?"

Almanzo is looking a bit nervous. But that's mostly because Father didn't give him permission, on account of not believing him.

Dick attempts to shoo away that nervousness by throwing a baseball cap onto Almanzo's head.

Almanzo takes it off and looks at it, running his finger across the fabric.

"Woah..." Proper store woven fabric!

[daringyoungman]

"Good, isn't it?" Dick says cheerfully. "I figured you just needed maybe a T-shirt and some sneakers? The hat is just because hats are cool."

"Is a tea-shirt for wearing when drinking tea?" Almanzo asks.

[daringyoungman]

Dick laughs, not unkindly, and pulls him over to the pile of clothes on the bed.

"No, T-shirt is shaped like a T."

He holds one up. It's green and black with a cartoon character on the front. "See?"
